Properties
The effective bacteriostatic antibiotic belonging to the macrolide group. It inhibits protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria. It is characterized by its excellent activity against Mycoplasma, Gram-positive bacteria, and certain Gram-negative organisms, exhibiting superior respiratory tract penetration.
Indications
Drug of choice for the treatment and prevention of bacterial infections such as chronic respiratory disease (CRD), mycoplasmosis, infectious sinusitis, air sacculitis, and other respiratory and enteric infections in poultry and turkeys.
Dosage
Chickens: 50 gm per 100 Ltr of drinking water (or 75-100 mg per kg body weight) for 3-5 days. Turkeys: 50 gm per 100 Ltr of drinking water (or 75-100 mg per kg body weight) for 3-5 days. Or as directed by the veterinarian.
